Originally launched in 2020 in response to pandemic-driven speculation and uncertainties in the investment world, The Investor Index, has become an award-winning and invaluable market study of consumer confidence and investment trends.

Delivered in partnership by The Nursery, and strategic communications agency AML, 2024 marks the fifth year of the Investor Index. To launch this year’s research, clients & professionals from across the financial services industry were invited to a panel discussion of key findings.

The most recent report delves into the global elections, AI and the British ISA, and has gained recognition in 27 prestigious publications including London Daily News, FT Advisor, London Business News, London Stock Exchange and more.

The 2024 research taught us that despite cost of living remaining higher than precious years, investor confidence is now stronger than at any point in the past 5 years of the Investor Index, including before the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.

As a result of this uplift in confidence, there is now a renewed focus on long-term growth and safer asset classes as optimism in the market grows.

Whilst market faith flourishes, self-reliance remains with the share of those doing their own investment research continuing to build.

The majority of UK investors feel that the change in UK power following the general election will positively impact their investments.

Whilst usage and sentiment remain relatively stable for AI, the use and future expectation of robo-advice is falling, a decline largely driven by younger investors.
